LAN topologies include bus, ring, star, mesh, tree.
Bus and tree topologies are characterizes by use of multi point medium. All station attaches hardware interfacing known as the tap directly to the linear transmition medium (Bus).
According to tree topology the transmition area is a branching table with no closed loop.
In ring topology the network contain of a set of repeater joined point to point link in a close loop. A repeater is a device capable of receiving data on 1 link and transmitting them bit by bit on the other loop.
In star topology each station is directly connected to a central node. A transmittion of a frame for 1 station to the node is retransmitted on all of the outgoing link.
