- Simplest form of flow control.
- Not very efficient (time consuming).
- A source entity transmits a frame to receiver, the receiver acknowledge the frame by sending the next frame until it receivers acknowledgement from the receiver.
- If the source acknowledge a negative signal it means the frame may be lost while travelling or it may be damage or it contain error.
TYPES OF ERROR
Error control refers to the mechanism of detect and correct errors that occurs at the time of transmission of data.
A frame fail to arrive at other side i.e. (either). A noise signal may damage a frame to the extent that receiver is aware that a frame is being transmitted.
A recognizable frame may arrive but some of the bits are in error.
